(d) Committee Report:
i. Education Committee – Kate Beiswanger and Joe Pahr
Thanks for the opportunity to report to the board – helps the committee to stay on track. Chris Sullivan is the committee chair or leader of the group. Curriculum has evolved over the life of the school without a close look at where we are at and defining a progression to graduation. Is seems that the middle school program has a good cycle or scope & sequence and that the high school curriculum needs more input. Committee is surveying high school seminar leaders for recommendations regarding scope and sequence for their content area. Finding a balance between providing foundational knowledge to support or scaffold the project process. What is the good balance of projects and seminars, what does a required seminar “mean.” See attached Education Committee report.
(e) Student Report – Ginger Coleman, student representative
No student meeting this past month due to winter break and Arts for Martin prep. Ginger plans to further discuss bullying, a comment box and facilities.

(a) Bullying Prohibition Policy 2nd Reading, Tammy provided the updated drafts to all present. Bold print denotes the change or adaptations of the policy, see attached policy draft.

Discussion – change/edit the following: School District Personnel pg 514-4 to School Personnel, change wording at C on pg 514-3 from On school district property with change to Charter School property, pg 514-4 B change from the principal of each building to charter school office, spoke to what “bullying means” – is it clear enough and ambiguous enough to cover the wide range of bullying behaviors, especially differences in how female/male bullying behaviors present themselves verses the more widely known physical bullying.
